The Undercity
Enter the City

Gear moves between players on the Market. Anyone can list items; buyers choose how many units to take from a listing.

  • A listing is stock at a unit price. "6 pants for $600" means six $100 pants; a buyer can take 1, 3 or all 6. Minimum $1 per unit.
  • Every listing, by item. The Player Market tab groups everything for sale in the city into one card per item, with the cheapest price per unit, how many sellers and how many units, and filters by rarity, category and name, a sort and pages. Tap an item for every offer of it, cheapest per unit first. Your own listings stay at the top of Player Market, with where each one stands.
  • Fee. The seller receives the price minus 10% (amounts under $10 pay no fee). The seller is notified on every sale.
  • Expiry. Listings last 48 hours, then the items return to the seller's inventory.
  • Price guide. The market shows recent sale prices per item so you can price against the going rate.
  • Quick sell. Any item can be sold instantly to the city for 30% of its base price. The unit you have equipped is never sold by mistake. On the Market's Sell tab, Sell all Street items to the NPC does this for every Street item in your bag at once — what you are wearing, and one of each weapon in your war loadout, stays.
  • Where gear comes from. There is no NPC store for gear: every piece in the game dropped from a crime at some point (see Items).

The Scrapyard: scrap and forge

  • Scrap. Pick items and Rusty turns each unit into Hot Metal: Street 1, Hustler 3, Syndicate 10, Kingpin 40, Godfather 400. The unit you wear and the one your war loadout names stay. Skill books are not scrap, and scrapping has no way back.
  • Forge. Choose the exact Syndicate, Kingpin or Godfather piece and an intensity. Each step costs Hot Metal and money and adds chance: Syndicate 5 + $1,000 for 10% (up to 90%), Kingpin 2 + $5,000 for 1% (up to 60%), Godfather 100 + $1,000,000 for 1% (up to 20%). It makes the piece you chose or nothing, never another one.
  • Same price at any intensity. The chance rises in the same proportion as the cost, so one piece costs, on average, the same however you split it: Syndicate 50 + $10,000, Kingpin 200 + $500,000, Godfather 10,000 + $100,000,000. If an attempt fails, the Hot Metal and the money are gone.
  • Limits. Syndicate: no daily limit; Kingpin: no daily limit; Godfather: 1 attempt per day. The day turns at midnight in São Paulo. The money comes from your pocket first and the bank after.
  • Hot Metal stays with you. It cannot be sold, sent, traded or turned into cash or Gold, and Gold never buys it or moves a forge's chance.
  • The collection. Banners and avatars sold only for Hot Metal, on the Collection tab. They never appear at the Tailor.
