By creating an account or playing The Undercity (“the game”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game.
You must be at least 18 years old to play. The game depicts fictional crime and drug-related themes for entertainment only.
The Undercity is a work of fiction. All crimes, substances, weapons, combat, and businesses are simulated game mechanics. Nothing in the game facilitates, encourages, or relates to real-world illegal activity, and it must not be used to attempt to do so.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post content in chat or any user-generated field that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, illegal, or otherwise objectionable, and not to harass or abuse other players. You also agree not to cheat, exploit bugs, use automation, or attempt to access other players’ accounts or our systems.
Every player can report a chat message and block another player from the chat screen. We review reports and may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion and without notice. We act on reports of objectionable content promptly.
You are responsible for activity on your account. You may delete your account from Profile → Danger Zone; if you lead a gang with other members, hand leadership over first. Deletion is permanent.
In-game currency, items, properties, and any other virtual goods have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be modified or removed as part of normal game operation and balancing. A cosmetic you bought stays on your account; we will not take it away to rebalance the game.
Gold is the game’s paid currency. You buy it with real money; playing does not earn it, though we sometimes give it away, to testers for example. Gold is a virtual item with no real-world value. It is not money, it is not a stored-value or payment instrument, and it cannot be cashed out or exchanged for anything outside the game.
Gold belongs to the account that bought it. You cannot transfer it, give it, or trade it to another player, and you cannot sell it. Gold buys convenience and appearance: an energy refill, a faster recovery, a name change, a cosmetic item. We may change pack prices, which packs are on sale, and what Gold buys, at any time. If you delete your account, your Gold and everything bought with it go with it.
Cosmetic items are sold from a shelf that changes every day. You always see the exact item and its exact price before you pay, and you get that item. Nothing is randomised when you buy, there is no paid random draw, and there is no way to pay to reshuffle the shelf. A cosmetic you buy is permanent on that account: you cannot buy the same one twice, and you cannot trade or sell it.
Most of the shelf is priced in Gold. Some items are priced in the game’s own cash, which you earn by playing and never buy with money — those cost you time, not Gold. Some items are on the shelf only for a stated period and do not come back afterwards; where that is the case the item says so before you buy it.
Who you are buying from depends on where you buy. On the website you buy from us: we are the merchant of record, Stripe processes the payment, and we never see your card number. Inside the iOS and Android apps you buy through the App Store or Google Play: Apple or Google is the merchant of record, the payment goes to them, and their terms cover that purchase.
If you bought Gold on the website, you bought it from us. Write to us at rafaelrmlv@gmail.com and we will look at it. We decide those case by case.
If you bought Gold inside the iOS or Android app, ask Apple or Google for the refund. We are not the seller on that purchase, so we cannot process it ourselves. If the store turns the request down, we do not refund it separately.
When a refund goes through, we take the Gold that purchase paid for back out of your account, up to the amount you still hold. Your balance never goes below zero. Gold you had already spent is not taken back, and what you bought with it stays yours.
The game is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game.
We may update these terms or modify, suspend, or discontinue the game at any time. Continued play after changes constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
